Major Fashion Goals with an Abaya for Women

The world of fashion is indeed colorful, not just in the literal sense. People have accepted trends in clothing breaking cultural and social barriers and the abaya is reminiscing proof of it. A traditional women’s garment, the abaya is a loose long robe, an epitome of modest clothing in a world where bling and skin are no more considered the only requisite to making a statement. Abayas have been conventionally worn by women for centuries and with a time that has shed the only color they were worn as – black – to embrace more colors, embroidery, gems, beads, and other adornments. The modest fashion trend has evolved into an elegant attire for ladies all over the globe.

Trendsetting with Abayas

Now that Modest Islamic clothing has transformed into quite an iconic fashion pick for many, there is no end to the number of ways in which an abaya can be styled. Flaunting an abaya is even more welcome for the simple fact that putting it on is completely hassle-free and very simple. One just needs to throw it over either a pair of jeans or palazzos and so on, as the statement requires.

1. Belted abayas

The belted abaya dress look is currently making quite a rage in the fashion world, for it is simple, classic, and brings the best of modest fashion and chic elegance together. The combination of the layering – the abaya and the top or jumpsuit worn within - is all that matters, and it is preferable to go for bold colors in one and subtle neutrals in the other.

2. Abaya kaftans

Kaftans are a must if one is to hit the streets in fashion, and what better than bringing together the best of two pieces of Modest Islamic clothing? A kaftan-styled abaya dress is different, comfortable, and very fashionable.

3. Abayas and sleeve embellishments

The simple modest fashion of the abayas can be given a chic turn with the help of embellishments on the sleeves. Abaya sleeves are often wide-ended and it would be a great idea to have them embellished for some extra drama. These embellishments could be sparkly in contrast to the abaya or might be laced up for adding to the delicateness of abayas.

Over the years, abayas have evolved in the industry, thanks to the influence of contemporary fashion. It adds a delicate Arabic touch to the overall look, and is best complete with flowy hair, with a turban to adorn your crown, combined with a matching neckpiece in case you are giving the hijab a miss.
