The Changing Trends of Islamic Clothing

Islamic Clothing is generally seen as less fashionable and unconventional dresses by people of other religions and communities. Many people have the notion that Muslim women wear long robes and hijabs while the men wear kurtas and taqiyah. Very few are aware of the fact there are not any particular dressing styles for Muslim people. They are free to explore all kinds of attires as long as they meet the basic dressing criteria.

The basic criterion that needs to be fulfilled as per Muslim dressing norms is modesty. Women are required to hide all the parts of their body except the hands and the face. The fabric should not be too tight on the body and it should be thick enough so as not to allow one to see through it. This is the reason that Islamic dresses are seen as less stylish but that is not the case. Thanks to numerous Islamic fashion designers who have worked out on bringing reform to the Islamic fashion industry keeping the modesty intact. Some of the beautiful Muslim dresseswhich are favourite among women, are abaya, kaftan, fustan and more.

Contrary to what the masses believe, Muslim women are not forced to wear burka and hijab. They wear it as a part of their culture and on their own choice. They are not oppressed and are free to pursue the life they desire. There wear it as a symbol of their strength and power. Many women say that the Burka empowers them and help them take control of their body. The hijab, which is an integral part of Islamic clothing, has different cultural significance in different countries. While some wear it by choice some do view it as a sign of oppression by men. However, it is only in a few parts of the world where women are forced to wear a hijab.

With rising fashion bloggers and designers, Islamic women are also very much becoming a part of this race. Social media influencers and bloggers are helping Islamic clothing gain worldwide popularity and recognition. Credits must also be given to the various online stores, which collect different Muslim dresses from independent sources and help customers to select from a wide range of designs. You do not need to keep hopping from shops to shops looking for different attires. You get to learn about different emerging trends in the market and buy your clothes sitting in the comfort of your homes.

No matter what a woman wears, it should be according to her choice. And most importantly, she should be comfortable in it.
